Turkey Pattern Blocks!
Students can either fill in the blank turkey outline with pattern blocks OR they can create a turkey of their own! Remember to tell them that their turkey needs to have at least 15 blocks. Then, students can graph how many of each block they used. They can even try to create their neighbors turkey by using the same blocks!

Setting the Turkeys Free!
Read this book and students can create their own turkey stories on construction paper by tracing their hands to make their turkeys. Students can create scenery for their turkeys and then write a story about their turkeys. Maybe their turkeys escaped to outerspace or to a basketball game! The possibilities are endless!
I’m Going to Grandma’s –
Read this book to students to teach them about sequencing events. Students can then draw the items (in the form of a flow chart) that the child packed to go to grandma’s house. Have students write a sentence for each item (She took a jacket to grandma’s house.)
Bubble Map: “What would you take on a family trip?”
Have students use a bubble map to decide what they would take on a family trip, then have them write a story about where they would go.
Feast Subtraction:
Have students draw and illustrate feast items in the form of subtraction number sentences. (6-3 = 3 ….. I had 6 pieces of pie and I ate 3 pieces, how many do I have left?....draw 6 pieces of pie – 3 pieces of pie = 3 pieces of pie).
Turkey Mat Subtraction or Addition:
Use the Turkey Mat to have students add or subtract turkey feathers. They can write their own number sentences to go along with their turkey mat.
